Pale Primary School is situated in a small rural village Pāle with about 700 inhabitants, in the northern part of Latvia, about 20 km from the Baltic Sea. We have 78 students (7-16 years old) in primary school level, 28 children in pre-school group, 24 teachers and 7 staff.

As there is quite a high unemployment rate in our region, we have about 35-40 students from low-income families. About 12 students have learning difficulties and some students are at a risk of social exclusion. For that reason we are realizing not only the general education programme but the programme for students with learning difficulties, as well.

We have certified, hardworking and reliable staff, eager to improve their skills and learn new things. Also, teachers` activity and ability to motivate students to be more active in school life has increased. Our students` council is very active the last three years.

One key factor in improving teachers` and students` skills is the opportunity to participate on international projects, which is a fantastic opportunity to share and enrich their experience with colleagues/students from different countries. Our school takes part in social activities in our area and successfully co-operates with the regional government.

School headmistress is an eTwinning and Scientix ambassador, has coordinated Erasmus and Nordplus projects, with very good digital skills, is interested to involve all students and teachers, and share an experience in local and international level. We have created a Nordplus team in our school, which is coordinating projects' activities.

As our school is not very big and it is located in the countryside, students do not have many opportunities to attend  music/art/sport schools in our local town Limbaži. We have two music teachers who always involve students in different musical activities at school. We have two singing bands. All students sing and dance at our school`s events. We have folk group in our village and they as a minimum twice a year come to school to sing and play and involve students, teachers etc.

Põltsamaa Co educational Gymnasium has a good team of teachers and staff. We are very interested in participating in different projects and activities. We want to learn how to teach students in modern ways, how to motivate them and give them the possibility to lead their own learning process. At Põltsamaa Co- educational Gymnasium  students’ musical education is highly valued. We have a children’s choir, boys’ choir, youth choir, bands, soloists, and some folk dance groups. The school takes part in national Song and Dance festivals. We also work closely with a nearby music school and art school.

Coordinator Marika Viks is an eTwinning ambassador.

Skúlin á Giljanesi is a public primary school. The Mýrdalshrepp Music School was founded in the fall of 1981. The school offers studies in instrumental music and singing, as well as instruction in other musical disciplines included in the School of Music's Main Curriculum. The core values of the music school are music, joy and consonance.

The school has around eighty students, ranging in age from 6 months to 91 years old. There are five teachers at the school, coming from Iceland, Spain, Japan, and Ukraine, who teach a variety of musical disciplines including voice, piano, guitar, drums, clarinet, horn, composition, and music theory. There are two choirs at the school. The Music School also has two bands.

In addition, there is a music course called "Singing Family", where children aged 0–5 years and their family members sing, play instruments, and dance together. Every February, the Music School holds a festival and competition in various music and art disciplines called "Flygill." Once every two months, the school organizes an event called Tón-klúbbur (Music Club), which introduces music and musicians from different genres, especially those from the local area or with a connection to Vík, with a special focus on young audiences.
